(Mildred Elizabeth Blaney [5043] was born on May 22, 1907 in Springhill, Fayette, Pennsylvania, USA, died on June 13, 2005 in Point Marion, Fayette, Pennsylvania, USA and was buried on June 15, 2005 in Smithfield, Fayette, Pennsylvania, USA.)


    Mildred Elizabeth Miller Myers, 98, of Smithfield, Pa., and Point Marion, Pa., died Monday, June 13, 2005, at Point Manor Personal Care Home in Point Marion.


    Born May 22, 1907, in Springhill Township, Fayette County, Pa., she was a daughter of the late George W. and Pierie Burchinal Blaney.

    A 1923 graduate of Smithfield High School, she was a faithful member for many years of the First Baptist Church of Point Marion, where she was a former teacher of the Ladies Anti-Can't Sunday School Class, and had been employed as a clerk at the Point Marion Pharmacy.

    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husbands, Lloyd C. Miller in 1974, and Ray Myers in 2000; brothers, Lloyd, Kenneth and Quentin Blaney; and sisters, Pearl Phillips, Evelyn Conn, Jean Crowe and Anna Marie Blaney, in infancy.

    She is survived by three sons, James Miller of Schellsburg, Pa., Jerry Miller of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Warren Miller of Point Marion; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leland Blaney of Uniontown; and three sisters, Jeanette Ganoe of Point Marion, Willis Conn of Heath, Ohio, and Dorothy Guseman of Akron, Ohio.

    Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating. Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield.
