Andrew Dutton Jaquette, one of the city's best known and most highly respected residents, died suddenly last night at 10:20 o'clock at his home in 40 Union street after a brief illness.
Mr. Jaquette was born in Uniontown, August 1, 1867, a son of the late Thomas B. and Margaret Dutton Jaquette, and spent his entire life here. For 15 years he was manager of the American Brakeshoe & Foundry company, of this city. In 1922, he was elected to the local school board for a term of four years, and in 1926 was re-elected for a six-year term. In 1932, he became affiliated with the I. N. Hagan & Sons Ice Cream company as chief clerk. He was a lifelong member of the Asbury Methodist Episcopal church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lena Metzger Jaquette, and three children: Mrs. Emma McCormick, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Mary Hogdon, and Dr. Marcus Jaquette, both of Philadelphia. Two grandchildren also survive.
Funeral arrangements were to be made today following the arrival of the children.
