The Hoppers lived at 510 Lockwood St., Alpena, MI from 1896-1925. Thomas Hopper
was a locomotive engineer with the Detroit & Mackinac Railroad. They belonged
to the Saint Bernard Parish and the children attended the Saint Bernard School.
The Hopper family was very close to Will and Mamie LaChapelle and family who
lived at 433 Lockwood. Will worked for the Detroit & Mackinac Railroad. Both
families left Alpena for Detroit about the same time in 1925.
