Bennett, Lydia Jane (b. 21 NOV 1843, d. ?)
Note: Mattoon. Feb 1----Mrs. Lydia Jane Bennett Dole, widow of the late Joseph C. Dole, died in the home of her son in law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Morgan, 3401 Western avenue, shortly after 12 o'clock Friday morning following a stroke of paralysis suffered Thursday afternoon. She had suffered three light strokes before from which she partially recovered but her advanced age and enfeebled condition rendered unable to rally from the stroke Thursday.
Mrs. Dole was born, Nov. 21, 1841, in Bridgeport, Me. She was married to Joseph C. Dole in 1875. They came to Mattoon immediately and went to housekeeping on a farm northwest of Mattoon where she lived until a year ago when she came to the home of Dr. and Mrs. Morgan. Mrs. Dole was a sister to the late Judge Charles Bennett of this city. She was Unitarian by faith. Five children were born to the union, three of whom preceded her in death. Those left are one daughter, Mrs. Morgan, and one son, J. C. Dole, both of Mattoon; one step-son W. E. Dole, living northwest of the city. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Jessie Warren, of Harrison, Me. The funeral will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Morgan resident, by Rev. John Codd, pastor of the Central Community church. Burial will be made in Dodge Grove cemetery. Decatur Herald, Saturday, February 01, 1930, Decatur, Illinois

He married Mary SAUNDERS in Rowley, Essex Co., MA., March 15, 1792. Daniel was a Revolutionary War Soldier who served with his brother David under Lt. Green in the Burgoyne Campaign.
